Anthony J. Saleme, Jr. was elected the 16th Judicial District Court Judge for Division F, effective January 1, 2021. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (currently the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and his Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from Loyola University College of Law. He worked as a law clerk from 1994-1995 at the 16th Judicial District Court. From 1995-1997, he was an associate attorney for Nicholas F. Larocca, Jr., Ltd. He worked at the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in St. Martin Parish, as a felony prosecutor from 1997-2004; as a felony/misdemeanor prosecutor from 2004-2020 in St. Mary Parish. He served as chief prosecutor for District Attorney’s Office in St. Mary Parish from 2013-2020. Judge Saleme is married to Mary Bourgeois Saleme and they are the parents of four children.
